Versaterm Launches Versaterm Airspace to Expand Situational Awareness Into the Skies

Airspace Confidence in Every Mission

Every day, public safety teams take to the skies and respond on the ground to help keep their communities safe. As commercial and recreational drones, public safety aircraft and crewed aircraft increasingly share low-altitude airspace, having a clear picture of nearby flight activity helps agencies make informed decisions, coordinate operations and support safer outcomes.

Versaterm Airspace brings planned, authorized and detected airspace activity into a single real-time view, giving public safety teams greater awareness of the airspace around them. Combining Versaterm Aloft’s authorization network and UAS Traffic Management (UTM) with live data from radar, ADS-B, Remote ID and Counter-UAS systems, it helps teams understand what is in the air, identify activity that may require attention and make more informed decisions in support of their missions and the communities they serve.

Knowing what is overhead often means checking separate sources: authorization records in one place, flight plans in another and sensor feeds somewhere else. When that information sits apart, operators spend time building the picture instead of using it.

Versaterm Airspace brings approved flights, planned operations and live aircraft positions into one operational view. Every operator authorized, planned or detected above your community is mapped in real time, so pilots, supervisors and command staff work from the same picture. Opening a single operation shows its live telemetry, authorization status and flight intent in one panel.

The result is shared awareness that supports faster decisions and safer coordination, from before launch through the end of the mission.

As commercial and public safety drone operations grow, more flights are planned for the same low-altitude airspace. Coordination that happens only after aircraft are airborne leaves little room to adjust.

Versaterm Airspace uses UAS Traffic Management (UTM) to share flight intent across operators before a mission launches. Planned operations appear alongside everything else in the airspace, helping coordinate BVLOS and other flights so a public safety mission and a commercial drone are never competing for the same airspace at the same time.

Coordination moves earlier in the process, helping agencies address potential conflicts before aircraft are in the air.

Checking which flights are authorized has often meant a manual lookup, one more step before or during a mission.

Versaterm Airspace shows which flights are authorized and permitted, drawing on LAANC and B4UFLY information, so operators can see approvals without having to ask. The view is backed by Versaterm Aloft’s network, through which roughly two-thirds of all national LAANC submissions run.

Operators spend less time looking up approvals and more time acting on what they see.

Authorization data shows what is expected, not everything that is actually there. In an active response, learning about nearby aircraft by radio costs time.

Versaterm Airspace adds live detection to the picture, bringing in data from radar, ADS-B, Remote ID and Counter-UAS systems. Operators gain immediate situational awareness the moment something is overhead, not after someone radios it in. What appears in the view depends on the sensors and data sources connected to your system.

Together with planned and authorized flights, detected activity completes the picture of what is in the air around your mission.

Versaterm Advances Drone Response With Native FAA LAANC Airspace Authorization Integration

Versaterm DroneSense now uses Versaterm Aloft’s native FAA airspace authorization, giving Drone as First Responder programs one less step between dispatch and launch. The result is a single, connected workflow that unifies CAD, drone operations and FAA airspace compliance, from call to response.

Airspace Awareness, Wherever You Fly

From flight planning to live operations, Versaterm Airspace helps agencies bring critical airspace information together, understand activity beyond their own fleets and adapt as their drone programs evolve.

Prepare for Evolving Drone Operations

Built on Versaterm Aloft’s authorization network and Versaterm DroneSense’s public safety expertise, Versaterm Airspace is designed to support agencies as capabilities and FAA requirements for advanced drone operations evolve.

Connect the Airspace Picture

Bring authorization records, planned flights and sensor detections together to help operators distinguish expected activity from flights that may need further attention.

Look Beyond Your Own Fleet

Gain visibility into available information about other aircraft operating nearby, helping teams account for surrounding air traffic when planning and conducting public safety missions.

Build on Your Current Technology

Connect supported data sources and sensor systems around your agency’s existing drone operations, extending visibility without requiring a complete overhaul of established workflows.
