Elevating Incident Management: Key Features in the Latest Release of Versaterm’s Adashi System

Changes are coming to Versaterm’s Adashi incident command solution when version 6.0 becomes available to current and prospective customers. Several agencies are testing the system in Australia and the United States. The update will enhance Versaterm’s Adashi system and introduce new tools that improve incident management. In this blog, we’ll discuss these features and how they’ll further support fire agencies and their staff.

Versaterm’s Adashi System Overview

Versaterm’s Adashi system is a fire incident management solution that helps firefighters seamlessly coordinate resources, personnel and equipment for effective emergency responses. The solution provides several functions that streamline and simplify the daily workflow of fire services. These products help eliminate single points of failure and improve response, incident command, accountability and situational awareness.

An Array of Improvements

Tactical Worksheets
One focus of the update is the centralization and enhancement of the Tactical Worksheet. Users can now allocate unit assignments and maintain situational awareness through an intuitive and speed focused workflow. The updated Tactical Worksheet allows incident commanders to promptly resource jobs and sectors within an incident. More streamlined touchscreen controls give users a clear visualization of resource assignments and hierarchy, along with the ability to create divisions through placement on maps, pre-planned documents, or whiteboards.
Task Management

Within the improvements to existing components, the Task Management module will replace the former Action Journal. The new Task Management module extends the capacity for task creation, organization, assignment and tracking. The system’s version 6.0 update includes preset creation for manual selection or by incident type, as well as breakthrough assignments to mobile clients. Task Management makes detailing and tracking tasks easier and allows instructions, location and assignments to be disseminated via software, keeping radio channels clear for critical communications.

In-Solution Document Management
ViewDocs, a sustainable and powerful document management tool, will replace the Guidance document management system in our response application. ViewDocs works online and offline, in or out of an incident and can act as a standalone document management system or connect to an existing one. This tool makes the necessary and tedious task of document management as efficient and convenient as possible. Additionally, the latest release improves the reliability of the Personnel Accountability Report (PAR) module, prioritizing firefighter safety and accountability at all times.

New Incident Command Tools Available

Alongside module changes, the updated incident management system delivers powerful new situation-specific tools.
Area Command Incident Operations

The Area of Operations (AOO) is a new incident management feature for large, complex and distributed incidents. Users can create an AOO that groups related CAD incidents by geography, call types and/or manual selection. This allows elaborate emergencies, such as the ongoing Los Angeles fires, and the resources assigned to them to be managed as a collective. The AOO also aids in ensuring the safety and coordination of large-scale events and mass gatherings such as this year’s U.S. Presidential Inauguration Day, improving situational awareness, tactical planning and resource management.

Incident Playback
This update also introduces the Incident Playback tool. This useful after-action, training and reporting aid lets Versaterm’s Adashi system users replay an incident or event in the application, complete with a scrubbing tool to rewind and examine an incident from any stage. Incident Playback assists fire departments in maintaining a high standard of emergency command, encouraging thorough preparation and the ability to learn from past mistakes.

Working alongside Incident Playback, the Command Wall tool is a new feature unique to Versaterm’s Adashi platform. This function allows users to pull screens or sections of data out of the display and into another window. This streamlines large emergency operation responses that require multi-screen displays as well as any command configuration that uses more than one screen such as large EOC walls.

More to Come

Versaterm’s Adashi incident management system is built to support fire departments and services by enhancing the safety of both firefighters and the communities they serve. This solution improves the coordination of resources, personnel and equipment, ensuring effective emergency response. This latest release and subsequent updates further empower firefighters and incident commanders to respond to emergencies swiftly and safely.
