SPIDR Tech, a Versaterm Public Safety company, provides the world’s first automated customer service platform for public safety, allowing agencies to optimize their operations and build trust with their communities. Our platform automatically provides updates to 9-1-1 callers and victims of crime, in addition to surveys that provide insight into their direct experiences with the agency. 

 

SPIDR Tech is a fully remote company. This position is 100% remote and full-time. 

 

THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to maintain, improve, and scale the infrastructure that powers our platform.  

 

In this role, you would be primarily responsible for improving the security posture of our services through improving the tooling, automation, and processes involving our cloud-based infrastructure. Specifically, you would:  

 

·  Own and maintain our cloud-based platform’s infrastructure 

·  Harden and improve the security posture of our existing systems 

·  Introduce and improve tooling to further automate governance and compliance 

·  Implement a Continuous Delivery pipeline for software releases 

·  Add monitoring and alerting to track performance for service level agreements 

·  Own and manage compliance with the FBI CJIS Security Policy 

·  Monitor the health of our systems and respond to potential incidents 

 

THE ROLE REQUIREMENTS​

·  Computer science degree or equivalent 

·  Minimum 5 years of work experience in a related competency 

·  AWS cloud solutions architect experience is an asset. 

·  AWS Certification is an asset

 

THE KEY COMPETENCIES​

·  Proficient in infrastructure security concepts and best practices 

·  Proficient in AWS administration (EC2, EKS, CloudFormation, IAM, S3, ELB) 

·  Proficient in Kubernetes (administration, Helm chart development) 

·  Proficient in PostgreSQL server administration (high availability, scaling) 

·  Proficient in Linux system administration 

·  Familiar with Docker (or other equivalent containerization technology) 

·  Preferred experience with SOC 2 

·  Preferred experience with Ruby on Rails
