The FP&A Specialist works alongside the CFO and the VP Finance and Administration of Versaterm with oversight over all aspects of the financial planning and analysis function for the organization. S/he will expand the existing FP&A capabilities to provide appropriate information and analytical tools for establishing goals, modelling outcomes and measuring performance. S/he will lead annual/quarterly budgeting and forecasting, timely monthly/quarterly reporting with operating plan variance analysis, and other ad hoc special projects. S/he will provide financial modelling support and fact-based strategic thought leadership to senior leadership team. The FP&A Specialist acts as the analytical engine of the company to provide insights and support for forward-looking business decision making.


Versaterm is seeking an experienced, qualified and resourceful FP&A Specialist who has worked in FP&A and business unit finance functions to support Versaterm’s rapid growth and to ensure smooth and efficient financial planning and analysis. The FP&A Specialist will have both strategic and administrative responsibilities, including but not limited to streamlining the forecasting process, overseeing development of financial forecasts, managing BI tools and financial data, reporting of company performance, assisting with Board presentations, and working with Company leadership to monitor organizational goals and their achievement.

  • Lead the development of the annual, operating and capital budgets with thorough financial analysis to  support decisions around operating expenses, capital spending, as well as long-term planning.

  • Build and maintain the corporate business model that details the entire Company’s operations, updating it periodically for actual results achieved and revised assumptions that will drive decision making and future strategy.

  • Lead the rolling forecast and budgeting processes and ongoing variance analyses, examining key performance indicators to assess current and future financial health of the Company against the model.

  • Analyze financial data (current and historical) to provide forecasting support.

  • Prepare projections and conduct modeling to simulate scenarios including acquisitions. Conduct ad hoc financial analysis to support company’s senior leadership team as required.

  • Assist in Company’s financial audits and work with our audit, accounting and tax advisors on matters pertinent to the FP&A responsibilities.

  • Streamline and automate daily, weekly, monthly reporting, and report on key performance indicators for the business and continuously assess processes for efficiency and opportunities for enhancement.

  • Assist with managing monthly management reporting processes and quarterly Board reporting working together with the Finance team.

  • Assist with the implementation of systems and their tools (e.g. Sage Intacct, SalesForce, ADP Workforce etc.) to provide critical financial and operational insights and to measure performance against the annual budget.

  • Work with CFO and the VP Finance and Administration to identify and analyze business activity decision impacts and opportunities based on results and scenario planning and communicate results to senior leadership team.

  • Manage preparation and publication of monthly, quarterly, annual and ad hoc reports and analyses.

  • Implement/work with business intelligence and analysis tool to create dashboards and reports.



  • 5+ years' experience in FP&A function. Strategic planning experience and working with senior management is also desired.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field and/or equivalent financial planning and analysis experience. Professional accounting designation (e.g. CPA) preferred.

  • Well-organized, self-directed team player; detail-oriented with very strong critical thinking & analytical skills; open to others’ ideas and exhibiting willingness to try new things with a resourceful mindset and strong problem-solving aptitude.

  • Strong organizational, and time management skills – should be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills including presentation skills, interpersonal skills, ethics, and cultural awareness.

  • Software industry experience preferred with SAAS/subscription-based model and professional services offering.

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other MS Office tools; sound knowledge of industry leading ERM tools (e.g., Sage Intacct), CRM tools (e.g., and BI tools (e.g., Tableau) is a plus.
