Versadex Conference Steering Committee | So you want to host a Versadex Users Conference?
Every year Versadex users from various client police agencies gather at the Versadex Users Conference. The conference is an opportunity for clients to meet one another and key Versaterm staff. Participants can exchange information and learn about new developments in Versaterm's software and in policing and technology in general.
The conference is organized and hosted by a different police agency each year. Participants from a variety of agencies deliver presentations on specific aspects of the Versadex product suite, or on the latest technological developments affecting policing.
Each year the conference seems to attract more people and it always generates an enthusiastic response. We encourage clients and prospective clients to attend. The Versadex Users Conference is a great way to find out the latest about Versaterm's end-to-end product suite, and to hear a variety of opinions on where the policing industry is headed in these rapidly changing times.
This committee was formed after the 2003 conference to guide and assist future conference hosts. The committee is composed of previous conference hosts, and future committees are able to draw on their experience throughout their planning processes. They also:
award the next conference to one of the applicant hosts
oversee the conference's funding and budgets
arrange for experienced past host representatives to visit and assist the next host to select hotels, meeting space, venues, etc.
As of April 14, 2009, the members of the steering committee are:
Chairman: Daryl Wiebe, Vancouver Police
Eldon Amoroso, London Police
Marilyn Abbot-Charters, Fredericton Police
Mike McCarthy, Sacramento Police
Mike Menzel, Windsor Police
Terri Rosales, Versaterm

Versadex users are invited to apply to the Versadex Conference Steering Committee to host a future Versadex Users Conference by contacting Daryl Wiebe at 604.717.3535 or at daryl.wiebe@vpd.ca.
The committee manages a revolving fund with enough money to finance an entire conference so no financial demand or liability is involved to host a conference.
The committee also arranges for experienced staff from a previous host to visit with the new host to assist with plans, venue selection, themes, hotels, meeting rooms, budgets, etc. They are always available as resources to the new host committee. Versaterm collaborates with the new host to produce the program for the main sessions and the make up of the mini-courses and main courses. Versaterm also hosts the Friday night banquet for delegates and spouses.
If you have any questions regarding hosting the Versadex Users Conference, please contact Terri Rosales at terri.rosales@versaterm.com or 613.820.0311.
