Every year, Versadex customers gather at the Versadex International Users Conference. Here, clients have a chance to meet one another, renew friendships, and spend face time with key Versaterm staff. In this collegial atmosphere, participants exchange information on how they are effectively using Versadex solutions; they find out how others have solved common problems; they learn about new developments in Versaterm's software, public safety operations, and technology in general. Participants from a variety of agencies deliver presentations on specific aspects of the Versadex product suite, how they met unique challenges, the lessons they learned - both good and bad, and on the latest technological developments affecting public safety.
The Users Group is placing an open call for participants who are interested and willing to prepare and participate in the presentations at the 2012 Annual Versadex Users Group meeting, scheduled to be held in Niagara Falls, Ontario the week of September 24th - 27th, 2012. This could include the Chief of Police or Fire Chief; a Battalion Chief or a division Commander; a detective, a fire fighter, or a patrolman; call taker or dispatcher; anyone who successfully uses Versadex or other advanced technologies. Even if you don't wish to speak, we are actively seeking out discussion topics that you would like to have placed on the conference agenda.
There are generally three different types of presentations that are being sought:
- General Assembly Plenary Presentations - These are presentations that typically last 20-30 minutes and are made to the entire conference assembly. Topics addressed during a plenary session are of a general nature and will appeal to all participants.
- Workshops or Mini-Courses - A workshop generally addresses a specific topic and the presentation is conducted by one or more speakers. A Mini-Course is characterized by a more hands-on training oriented presentation. These presentations run either 60 or 90 minutes and can include specific topics from the following subject areas:
- Management/Operational Focus
- CAD Focus
- RMS Focus
- Mobile Focus
- Crime Analysis Focus
- Technical Focus
- General Focus
Click here for a list of prior years topics that you can use as a guide to the type of presentations you might want to offer. Also please visit the Versaterm website at www.versaterm.com where you can view presentations that have been given at the last two annual conferences.
Please note: Although all speakers must register and pay the conference registration fee, speakers will be reimbursed part, or the entire registration fee depending on the number and length of the presentations in which the speaker is involved.
The following represents the reimbursement policy for speakers:
- Plenary Presentations - Rebate of one day worth of the conference fee
- Workshop/Mini-Course - Rebate of two days worth of the conference fee; if there is more than one speaker, the rebate value is divided equally between the number of speakers
- Any two presentations of any type - full rebate of the entire conference fee
Each year the conference seems to attract more people and it always generates an enthusiastic response. The interaction and exchange of information among, and between all conference attendees plays a significant role in the success that has been experience by the Versadex User Community.
if you are interested in participating or have an idea for a plenary session, a workshop, or a Mini-Course, please send your information, before March 15, to Jim Mortimer at jim.mortimer@versaterm.com (480) 663-9744.
