VERSADEX USERS GROUP
Versaterm customers founded the Versadex Users Group in 1993 and it has been run by users ever since. Versaterm customers place a high value on the Users Group. The focus of the group is the annual Users Conference that is hosted on a voluntary basis by a different customer each year. Rotating hosting duties lowers the cost for regional customers to attend the conference. The host for each year becomes the head of the Users Group for that year. Versaterm does not run or finance the Users Group, rather our users do. Versaterm provides a secretariat to assist with organization, makes program suggestions, conducts some courses and also serves a 'conference knowledge transfer' role in support of the conference host agency.
Over 200 delegates typically attend the conference with each agency generally sending at least one representative. A very intense and educational program with up to five streams of workshops and mini-courses assures that the conference will be of high value to all delegates. Most sessions and workshops are conducted by other users, with Versaterm contributing in some areas. Adequate opportunity is also provided for delegates to get to know one another and identify other users who can help (or be helped) by the other delegates. The conference also provides an opportunity for delegates to get to know the Versaterm support staff who serve them too.
Between conferences, Versaterm's Private User's Area on our web site provides customers with contact information, product configurations, agency statistics, etc., as well as a user's discussion forum on various topics contributed by other users and Versaterm. This encourages regular contact and information exchange between customers throughout the year. The Users Group illustrates the old adage that "you can see farther by standing on each others shoulders (than on each others toes)".
